Any airplane in Santa Barbara will be found at Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA), which is actually not located in Santa Barbara but in the neighboring city of Goleta. Relatively small, the airport is comprised of just three small single-story buildings and a few runways, but it is currently under construction and undergoing a relatively large project for expansion. SBA houses a range of small commercial airplanes, private jets, and glider planes. The airport offers quick conveyance to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) several times a day on small shuttle airplanes, as well as direct flights to eight popular destinations in jet and cabin-class
aircraft. Direct flights are available to San Francisco, San Jose, Phoenix, Denver, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Las Vegas, and are offered through five major airlines. The location offers short term and long term parking, on-airport car rental, and door-to-door shuttle van service. If you're looking for public transportation, Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District's Route 11 public bus system (MTD) offers transit to and from downtown Santa Barbara roughly every hour throughout the day.
